I haven't talked about Fred Perry in a while here eh?  I haven't shopped for anything either, but that's not entirely a bad thing since it's a little on the "expense" side here in Montreal.  Maybe the reason is that I am growing older, more mature and know how to prioritize now.  Or maybe it is because I am currently in the market to purchase a new road bike!  That will also cost an arm an a leg.

I will still need a navy classic FP Tennis shirt to go with my blue jeans and my top siders.  Oh!  And I'll need a blue jean jacket as well...

J'aimerais attirer votre attention sur l'exposition en cours au Musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal [MBAM] sur l'exquis art du vitrail version Tiffany. 

L'art du vitrail et les poids lourd qui la pratique est/son totallement inconnu/s pour moi. Bien-sûr que j'en ai faisquelques uns -vitraux- au cours de mes études primaires et secondaires axées en partie sur les arts mais sans plus. Lorsque l'on me parle de Tiffany je pense au magasin de vente au détail de bijouterie de New-York [fondée par le père de Louis C. Tiffany BTW],  je pense aussi au film "Breakfast at Tiffany's." -Duh!!- Lorsque je pense vitrail je pense aux oeuvres de Marcelle Ferron - une de mes artistes préférée R.I.P - 

Selon ce que je comprend Louis C. Tiffany a vraiment changé la façon de travailler et d'exploiter le verre dans toutes ses possibilitées. Rien à voir avec les vitraux ou les travaux sur verres axé sur le sacré. Non, je me rétracte -rien à voir en effet mais il faut savoire qu'il y a de pures merveilles qui ornementent les églises, les cathédrales et les basiliques du monde chrétien. On ne peut dénier la magnificience des oeuvres de Tiffanny. J'écris ceci et je n'ai pas encore vu l'exposition complète. Je n'ai vu que les 2 ou 3 oeuvres en verres déjà exposées au MBAM. Je compte aller consacrer mon après-midi de vendredi (26-02-2010) à scrupter ses oeuvres et faire le tour avec l'accompagnateur audio.

En parlant d'audio, avez-vous vu les petits clips affichés sur vimeo.com du MBAM? Filmés en format numérique ces clips vous renseignent sur les influences de Louis C. Tiffany au cours de sa carrière. BRILLANT! Aussi, Marianne Brault -inconnue pour moi- affiche officiellement au nom du MBAM sur Twitter. Encore une fois, chapeau bas!

Non mais il est bon que le MBAM se mette au diapason et au goût du jour. Un plus pour eux et à la nouvelle tangente prise par le MBAM au cours des dernières années. Ils essaient vivement et parviennent à obtenir des collections exclusives sur des thèmes, sur des artistes talentueux, moins connus mais tout aussi fascinants. J'ai ma carte de membre depuis maintenant 2 ans et je compte la renouveller annuellement si la constante se maintient. Le MBAM ne doit pas être le seul ou le premier à prendre cette approche mais sans dénigrer les autres, le MBAM fait les choses sans tambours ni trompettes mais elle le fait bien.

Being "Canadien Français" as well, I grew up watching like a milion different Québécois talk shows.  Not all good, but all original canadian programming and actually pretty darn good come to think of it (Deschamps, Grand Blond, Bazzo, TLMEP... Mongrain Père(HAHA)).  I guess the R.O.C. (Rest of Canada) was busy watching the likes of Allen, Carson, O'Brien, Leno, Letterman...  Our American neighbours have had good TS over the years too.

Well, guess who was on The Hour last night?  Bill Maher.  Really!  Like my favorite Amercian of all time (him and Bob Dylan... oh and Mc Hammer.  What?  Gotta have a black dude at my wedding, c'mon what kind of white folk would I be).  So they talked about this and that and swore on TV and it was pretty good.  Then Vivica A Fox was on the show... yeah, a little different in terms of entertainment quality I know.  But in between the guess, Georgie boy talked about this website: 20X200.com where you can go and by artwork for not so expensive.  Semi exclusive shite too.
